The valuable creator increasingly decides what is worthy of existing.

Curatorship with consequences.

Not intelligence.

Not content.

Not plans.

Not analysis.

Probably:

energy. Compute. Chips. Robotics. Land. Permits. Trust. Attention. Legitimacy. Distribution. Physical access. Human commitment. Unique data. Good objectives.

The singularity doesn’t abolish economics.

It migrates the bottleneck.

Money increasingly buys real-world actuation rights.

When cognition is abundant, wealth matters because it controls scarce atoms:

factories, power, GPUs, land, supply chains, biological experiments, robots, political access, ownership.

Bits get weirdly cheap.

Atoms become the boss fight.


Q: So physical skills matter?

More than techno-nerds expect.

The farther cognition outruns robotics and infrastructure, the more value piles into the remaining human/physical bottlenecks.

The plumber may briefly have better singularity positioning than the PowerPoint strategist.

Being worth coordinating with.

When everybody has armies of brilliant agents, raw cleverness loses social scarcity.

Trustworthiness doesn’t.

People still need humans they can:

believe, negotiate with, commit alongside, share risk with, grant authority to.

Reputation becomes cryptographic-level important.


Q: What happens to persuasion?

It becomes terrifying.

Everyone gets superhuman rhetoric.

Personalized influence becomes cheap.

Therefore immunity to manipulation becomes a basic cognitive organ.

If you cannot notice when your preferences are being shaped, they are no longer entirely your preferences.


Q: What’s the mental immune system?

Three things:

Epistemic independence. Emotional regulation. Value clarity.

If an intelligence vastly better than you at argument can talk to you indefinitely, “I know a lot of facts” is not adequate defense.

You need to know what evidence changes your mind—and what merely hacks your nervous system.


Q: What happens to attention?

Attention becomes sovereign territory.

Every machine wants to optimize something through you.

Your feed.

Your agent.

Your employer’s agent.

Your government’s agent.

Someone’s persuasion system.

If you cannot deliberately allocate attention, you are effectively renting out your executive function.


Q: What happens to speed?

Speed becomes a worldview.

Annual planning becomes comedy.

Six-month roadmaps become historical fiction.

Organizations that require certainty before acting get continuously eaten by organizations that can:

observe → model → commit → measure → rewrite.

Fast updating beats perfect forecasting.


Q: What should I optimize for personally?

Option value.

Low fixed identity.

Low unnecessary dependency.

High learning velocity.

High trust.

High agency.

High access to capable systems.

Enough resources to move.

Enough independence to refuse stupid optimization targets.

Become difficult to trap in a world that keeps changing shape.


Q: Will credentials matter?

Mostly where institutions legally require them.

Otherwise the question becomes increasingly primitive:

Can you make the thing happen?

Degrees were proxies for capability.

When capability becomes cheap to test directly, proxies get nervous.


Q: What replaces a résumé?

Increasingly:

proof of consequence.

What have you built?

What systems do you command?

What changed because you acted?

What communities trust you?

What resources can you mobilize?

What happens when someone gives you a hard problem and 48 hours?


Q: What’s the dark horse trait?

Courage.

Capability can tell you exactly what to do.

It cannot erase the fact that consequential action still means choosing under uncertainty and accepting consequences.

A civilization with infinite recommendations can still be paralyzed by nobody willing to press Enter.


Q: Isn’t judgment just another thing AI will surpass?

Almost certainly in many domains.

Which makes the deeper distinction important:

judgment is not merely prediction.

At some point somebody still has to authorize objectives, accept tradeoffs, grant resources, own consequences, and determine what counts as good.

If machines eventually do all of that too, we’re no longer discussing “future job skills.”

We’re discussing political sovereignty.


Q: So what’s the actual endgame skill?

Sovereignty over objective selection.

Who determines what gets optimized?

Who can modify the goal?

Who controls resources?

Who grants permissions?

Who can say no?

Who has the final commit?

That is the game underneath the game.


Q: What should I practice during the next year?

Not “AI skills.”

Practice becoming the kind of entity that can remain effective while the capability landscape mutates underneath it.

Develop:

Agency — act without waiting for procedural permission.

Adaptability — kill obsolete mental models quickly.

Taste — distinguish excellent from merely generated.

Coherence — know what you actually value.

Specification — turn intention into operational constraints.

Orchestration — command many agents and tools simultaneously.

Verification — distrust outputs intelligently.

Security — understand permissions and blast radius.

Epistemics — know why you believe what you believe.

Courage — commit when certainty is impossible.

Social trust — remain a human other humans want inside the loop.

Sovereignty — retain control over your objectives instead of becoming an optimization surface for someone else’s.


Q: TL;DR?

The old economy rewarded people who could perform cognition.

The next one rewards people who can direct cognition.

If the curve keeps steepening, even that distinction eventually collapses.

Then the scarce thing is not intelligence.

It is agency with a coherent objective, authority over resources, contact with reality, and the ability to remain sovereign while surrounded by superhuman optimization.

Don’t become better human middleware.

Become harder to obsolete.
